People come to Key West to party and have a good time. The tropical weather, sandy beaches, watersports, cruises, and seemingly endless bars and nightclubs that line Duval Street (one of the most popular spots for nightlife in Key West) are all available for people to relax in the Island sun and get away from real life for a little bit.
With so many fun places to choose from, consider our recommendation for a good time and a raging party.
1. Virgilio’s
This indoor and outdoor cocktail bar is one of the most popular bars in Key West, as it caters to crowds over 30 and serves some of the best, most unique drinks in Key West.
Bar hoppers who stop into Virgilio’s can enjoy several different martinis, such as a key lime pie martini, a mint chocolate chip martini, or any tropical martini you can think of. While their selection is extensive, the bartenders can help you get a drink you will enjoy quickly, where you can kick back and enjoy under a tree canopy while you listen to music.
2. Little Room Jazz Club
Duval Street can get pretty hectic and chaotic. Nestled neatly on the street, however, is a small club called the Little Room Jazz Club where patrons can grab a glass of wine or any other beverage and slow down their vacation as they listen to jazz, blues, and even Cuban-inspired music.
You also can’t beat some of their awesome Happy Hour specialties.
3. Irish Kevin’s
This bar is particularly entertaining and it encapsulates much of what a good vacation in Key West is all about.
This bar and club hire hysterical entertainers who invite patrons in right off the street with their music and persuades all their patrons to:
- Sing
- Dance
- Enter drinking contests
They also have interactive comedy shows, music starts early in the morning and goes all night, and you can even get their iconic shirts that read, “I came, I drank, I don’t remember!”
4. 801 Bourbon Bar
This is one of the strangest and funniest bars in Key West. The 801 Bourbon Bar is known for its female impersonators who do stage cabaret, raunchy comedy, and even drag queen bingo on Sundays, which is something we bet you didn’t know even existed but can’t be missed.
5. Hog’s Breath Saloon
On average, the Hog’s breath doesn’t necessarily distinct from other bars in the area except for its name and the good food where you can expect to see all of the Key West locals from time to time. However, there are a few annual events at the Hog’s Breath Saloon which you don’t want to miss, including their homemade bikini contest and their hair of the hog leather and lace contest, both of which take place near the end of October.
